Loud Sounds 54
"Loud Sounds" are some of the best new tracks we've found. We are coming back with the 54th installment of the series.
Best Fern – On and On

Best Fern is a musical collaboration between Nick Schofield and Alexia Avina, based in Montreal and New York City. Their new single, "On and On", is the second track taken from their soon-to-be-released debut LP. This song features shimmering ambient soundscapes and euphoric melodies. The music was created while the duo was secluded in the woods, "surrounded by mountains and rivers writing new songs every day". The lyrics, sung by Alexia, reflect this connection to nature that the band has described as being "caught up in the light of the sun and the sound of it".

Rumbaristas – Malabares

Rumbaristas' track "Malabares" is a vibrant and multi-layered composition that brings together the band's diverse cultural influences. The tarantella rhythm provides a lively and infectious backdrop for Willy Fuego's guitar and Thomas Morzewski's accordion, but our favourite part of the track is the extremely catchy bass riff played by the charismatic vocalist Tomas De Smet.

The lyrics explore the theme of juggling multiple responsibilities in life. As the band explains, "the lyrics are about 'juggling'- it's about the hardships of live, and how many people have to keep multiple 'balls' in the air, especially after the pandemic." The addition of Catalan lyrics by Joan Garriga adds another layer of emotional depth to the track, further enhancing the message of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity.
