Yücem Varoğlu (feat. Jam and the Benzos) – Biter mi

This collaboration is a curious one, because the two projects that look like they joined forces for this one are essentialy the same artist. Yücem Varoğlu is a Cypriot DIY musician, who writes, performs and produces everything himself, while Jam and the Benzos is his pseudonym which, as Yücem puts it, "helped him record songs, sort of staying under the protective shield until he got confident enough to record under his real name".

The heartfelt song "Biter mi" was written 15 years ago and is based on important events that took place in the artist's life at the time.

Yücem Varoğlu
It was about a summer love, that I was ready to completely change my plans of living abroad in UK and moving back home for them. Unfortunately the feelings were not mutual. So it's basically a song about mutual lust but platonic love.
Time can heal old wounds, and time can also bring new ideas for old songs. Yücem was fond of the song for a while, but only now he found the right arrangement that helped take it to the next level. It brings together psychedelic keyboard chords with a wah-wah effect, crisp drums and – most notably – Yücem's deep, dark vocals.

Sea Glass — Pencils (feat. Madge)

New-York-based producer Jake Muskat aka Sea Glass teams up with Madge, "pop writer and producer breaking hearts and noses from their cat cave in Los Angeles". Their collaboration "Pencils" is shrouded in a dreamy, hazy, cloudy soundscape and is carried on the back of a sharp, in-your-face drum beat with Madge's disarmingly vulnerable vocals floating above it all.
