Nathanial Young — Powder

Imagine if your pulse slowed down to the pulse of a sloth. If you thoughts passed through your mind slower than mountains turn into valleys of sand. If life itself slowed down. Millions of years are just a slow blink of a deity's all-seeing eye. This zooming out, this imaginary excersise could help you figure out how Nathaniel Young's Powder works.

It's where jazz meets ambient. Where frenetic improvisation is frozen to death and at this velocity it starts to feel meditative.

Nathanial Young has developed his own signature saxophone sound that, according to his press release, "amassed a cult following". Take a slow walk through LA with him. Join the cult.

Quinn Mills — Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

This track miraclously marries two worlds. Here a stadium-sized chorus that would make pop stars proud follows an undeniably catchy bedroom pop part. The part in question would be a treat for fans of Jai Paul, who rarely releases new music. It has a few elements that bring to mind the elusive genius – namely the roomy part-confessional, part-alienated vocals and heart-warming guitar lines. Despite that, the song stays totally original throughout. Quinn Mills might be next big thing. Keep your eyes on the prodigy.

The Bergamot — Remember This December

Probably Easter is the best time to remember Christmas. In the wake of "AI music flooding the industry" the duo took a bold step of recording "a fiercely human, deeply soulful" live album of Christmas standards. The record features one original – a warm nostalgic ballad with a gentle melody and a haunting harmonica part. Maybe, a future classic? Who knows.
