Xentri is a producer from Hastings, England, who spent more than twenty years on the other side of the DJ booth, as a devoted fan of EDM and techno, a festival regular and a frequent guest at the clubs of Ibiza, before he started making tracks of his own. He works alone in his home studio and handles every part of the process himself, with Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta among the names he looks up to. "Better Days Ahead," out since October 3, is his first original single: a big festival track with a simple, hopeful message that things are going to be all right.
Apart from the house stars mentioned above, an evident influence would be classic progressive trance of the 2000s — think Chicane's emotional sensibility paired with the no-prisoners-taken hardness of modern EDM. The vocals here reminded me of David Guetta's first big singles, like
The World Is Mine and
Love Don't Let Me Go. They have a similar blend of emotional power and a certain masculine energy. The song's life-affirming message also bring to mind these classics. We hope the song reaches a similar level of success with its combination of catchiness, emotional conviction and effective production.
